Aaron Pilsan
Pianist
Aaron Pilsan was born on 15.01.1995 in Dornbirn, western Austria, where he still lives. He began learning the piano when he was five and since 2003 has received tuition from Ivan Karpati in Dornbirn. Since 2007 he has been a pupil of Prof. Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, first at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and then at the College of Music, Theatre and Media in Hanover. He has attended masterclasses with Alfred Brendel and Andras Schiff. He has already taken part in some national and international competitions, winning 1st Prize at the Rotary-Jugend Music Competition in Lindau as well as at Prima la Musica, the Grotrian-Steinweg Competition in Braunschweig (where he was additionally awarded the Grotrian-Steinweg Special Prize) and at the Wendl&Lung Competition in Vienna. Notably he also won 2nd Prize at the Jeunesse Competition in Bucharest and a special prize for the best Liszt interpretation at the "Ton und Erklärung" music contest in Munich. Aaron Pilsan has already played at some important events such as the lunchtime concerts at the Berlin Philharmonie, at the European Youth Music Festival in Passau, Schwetzinger Festival, the Heimbach chamber music festival "Spannungen" (artistic director: Lars Vogt), the Bad Kissingen "Klavierolymp" and the Bad Kissingen Summer Festival.
