Allan Clayton

Allan Clayton, a member of the BBC New Generation Artists scheme from 2007 to 2009, was awarded the Borletti-Buitoni Prize in 2008 and nominated for both the RPS Young Artist Award and the South Bank Show Breakthrough Award in 2009. On stage Allan Clayton has enjoyed critical acclaim for his performances as Benedict (Béatrice et Bénédict) at Opéra Comique in Paris, Ferrando (Così fan tutte) at the Glyndebourne Festival and recently as Camille (Die lustige Witwe) at Opera North. As a concert singer Allan Clayton recently made his debut with the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and sang in Carmina Burana with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. In October 2011 he will sing the role of Castor (Castor et Pollux) at English National Opera and will accompany the Britten Sinfonia on a tour of South America for performances of Britten's Les illuminations.
