In the 2009/10 season, Andrew Gangestad appeared as Figaro in Le nozzo di Figaro with the Macau International Music Festival, Colline in La Bohème with Arizona Opera, and Leporello in Don Giovanni with Lyric Opera of Kansas City. The 2008/09 season saw a return to the Metropolitan Opera as Brander in La damnation de Faust and to Minnesota Opera as Ferrando in Il trovatore. He also made his debut at Arizona Opera as Leporello in Don Giovanni, at Cleveland Opera as Basilio in The Barber of Seville and as Méphistophélès in Schumann's Scenes from Goethe's Faust with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. Highlights of the recent past include engagements opera houses at which he has appeared before, among them the New York Met, where he played Tom in Un ballo in maschera, the Michigan Opera Theatre, where he was Rodolfo in La sonnambula, and Kentucky Opera, where he sang Timur in Turandot. He made his debut at Welsh National Opera in the role of Ramphis in Aida, and appeared at Seattle Opera in roles like Zuniga in Carmen, Alidoro in La Cenerentola and Leporello in Don Giovanni. Among other performances he sang Colline in La Bohème (New York City Opera, Kentucky Opera, Syracuse Opera). Since his debut at the New York Met in 2000/01 Gangestad has returned to perform on the legendary stage every season, singing Colline in La Bohème and Count Ceprano in Rigoletto. Other successes include a debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under James Levine as Brander in La damnation de Faust in Boston and at the Carnegie Hall; he reappeared in the role at the Beethoven Festival in Warsaw.
