Giulio Mastrototaro won the As.Li.Co competition with the role of Belcore in L’elisir d’amore, and also won the best performer prize at the Martina Franca Festival for his performance in Donizetti's Pietro il Grande. Other engagements have been:  Paisiello's Barbiere di Siviglia (Figaro) at the Théâtre La Monnaie in Brussels, Paisiello's Matrimonio inaspettato in Ravenna with Riccardo Muti, L’ Italiana in Algeri (Taddeo) in Lisbon, L' Elisir d' Amore in Bologna, La Cenerentola in Teramo and Fermo directed by Massimo Ranieri, Iphigénie en Aulide with Riccardo Muti at Opera Rome, Der Freischütz in Venice, La Cenerentola in Avignon and Reims, La cambiale di matrimonio, La Gazzetta, L' Italiana in Algeri, La Gazza Ladra in Bad Wildbad with Alberto Zedda, and Gianni Schicchi in Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome conducted by Vladimir Jurowski. His discography includes the operas Siberia by Umberto Giordano for Dynamic, La cambiale di matrimonio, La Gazzetta, L' Italiana in Algeri (Naxos) and Donizetti's Adelia (RCA). Recently he sang Don Chisciotte in Conti’s Sierra Morena in Vienna and Poeta Prosdocimo in Il Turco in Italia in Venice and Leipzig. In addition he has performed the roles of Don Magnifico (La Cenerentola) in Avignon and Reims, Carlo Duca di Borgogna (Adelia), Dandini (La Cenerentola) in Potsdam, and has sung in Puccini's Messa di Gloria at the Mahler Festival in Toblach, Il Turco in Italia in Leipzig, L’elisir d’amore (Dulcamara) in Saint-Etienne and Rouen, and Così fan tutte (Don Alfonso) in Naples. 

Among planned roles are Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro) in Potsdam followed by a tour of Germany, La Cenerentola and Il barbiere di Siviglia in Massy, Il Turco in Italia in Leipzig, and La Bohème (Schaunard) in Naples.
