Keith Warner is one of the most significant stage directors of our time. Among the works he has staged are Wagner's Lohengrin at Bayreuth, Der Ring des Nibelungen in Tokyo, Leoncavallo's I Pagliacci & Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana at State Opera Berlin, Puccini's Tosca in London, Britten's The Turn of the Screw at the Théâtre de la Monnaie, Strauss’s Die Frau ohne Schatten in Hamburg, and Berlioz's Damnation and Gounod's Faust in Dresden. His Covent Garden productions of Der Ring des Nibelungen and Berg's Wozzeck were great successes, the latter winning an Olivier Award and being named best opera production of 2003. In addition he works regularly at Frankfurt Opera, where he has staged Britten's Death in Venice, Rossini's La cenerentola, Dallapiccola's Volo di notte and Il prigioniero, Reimann's Lear, Ades' Tempest. He also enjoys a close association with Vienna's Theatre an der Wien, where he has staged Bloch's Macbeth, Mozart's Don Giovanni, Schulhoff's Flammen, Haydn's Orlando paladino, Janáček's Katya Kabanova and most recently Britten's The Rape of Lucretia.
