Olga Pasichnyk
Soprano
Olga Pasichnyk studied at the Conservatory in Kiev and at the Academy of Music in Warsaw. In 1992 she became a member of the ensemble of Warsaw Chamber Opera. She has sung in concert at the major venues in Europe (Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Salle Pleyel, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Berlin Konzerthaus, Bozar Brussels, De Doelen Rotterdam) and in Japan, the USA and Australia. Highlights of the recent years include a concert performance of Don Giovanni (Donna Anna) which was followed up by CD recording for Harmonia Mundi with the Freiburg Barockorchester conducted by René Jacobs. She has also appeared as the Contessa (Le nozze di Figaro) in Aix-en-Provence, in numerous Handel roles like Almirena (Rinaldo), Dalinda (Ariodante), Dorinda (Orlando) at Vlaamse Opera and Bavarian State Opera, Belezza (Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno) conducted by Marc Minkowski at the Salle Pleyel, Düsseldorf and Granada, Morgana (Alcina) at Opéra de Paris, the title role in Semele in Essen and Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare) in Warsaw. In 2008 she made her debut in the role of Blanche (Dialogues des Carmélites), sang Ännchen (Der Freischütz) and the title role in La Calisto. Among newer roles in her repertoire are Micaela (Carmen), Ilia (Idomeneo) and Megacle (L’Olimpiade by Pergolesi). The soprano is a regular guest at Opéra Bastille, Vlaamse Opera, Wielki Theatre and the Théatre de la Monnaie and she is shortly to make her debut at De Nederlandse Opera, Komische Oper Berlin and the Opéra national du Rhin. Olga Pasichnyk has already appeared at the Bregenz Festival, singing Roxana in King Roger.
