Carlo Gérard (baritone)

A graduate of the renowned Houston Grand Opera Studio, the American baritone Scott Hendricks has performed at the major opera houses of the world. Among his many roles are Marcello at San Francisco Opera, the Traveller (Death in Venice) at the Teatro La Fenice, Scarpia (Tosca) and Karol Szymanowski's King Roger at Opéra National de Paris, Ford (Falstaff) and Eugene Onegin at Santa Fe Opera, as well as Rigoletto at Houston Grand Opera. For several seasons the singer was first soloist at Opera Cologne where he sang Germont (La Traviata), Silvio (I pagliacci), Dandini (La Cenerentola), the title role in Don Giovanni and an internationally acclaimed Posa (Don Carlo) among other roles. Not long ago Scott Hendricks performed alongside Plácido Domingo at Washington National Opera in the role of Sharpless (Madame Butterfly). The baritone has worked with the Bregenz Festival for many years, having appeared as Il Conte di Luna (Il trovatore), Scarpia (Tosca) and King Roger. In the near future Scott Hendricks will make his debut at Bavarian State Opera, the Royal Opera House and the Metropolitan Opera. Also he will be returning to La Monnaie in Brussels and Houston Grand Opera.
