Tigran Martirossian started his career at the New Opera and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. There he performed i. a. the roles of Ramphis, King René, Raimondo and Pimen from 1993 until 1998. Being awarded by eight international competitions his career took a great turn leading him to Europe (since 1998 – he has been living Germany and Austria) and the USA. Starting from 1996 he has performed at the majority of the most renowned places, such as Met, Bayerische Staatsoper, Wiener Staatsoper, Teatro Real Madrid, Opéra Bastille Paris, Scala di Milano and Salzburger Festspiele. His past and current central roles are: Phillipp II. (Don Carlos), Méphistophélès (Faust), Rodolfo, Pimen, Gremin, Sparafucile, Oroveso and Fasolt. He continues to perform the key roles of his Fach (Fiesco, Ramphis, Banco, etc.) mostly with his current home company of Hamburgische Staatsoper where he can also be seen as Raimondo, Dulcamara, Gremin, Figaro, Fafner/Siegfried, Sparafucile and Colline. The present season will additionally bring about his debuts as Daland and Dossifei/Chowantschina. Besides he will anew sing Basilio at Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin; furthermore return to Bregenz as Ramphis and to Bayerische Staatsoper as Selim. Martirossian has been working with conducters such as: S. Cambreling, Sir C. Davis, V. Gergiev, Z. Mehta, C. Rizzi, M. Rostropovich, J.-P. Saraste, M. Tilson-Thomas, P. Domingo, J. Levine,  M. Wigglesworth und P. Jordan.
