How to get here
Arrival by public transport
In order to avoid congestion on the roads and possible delays, we recommend that you leave for Bregenz in good time and, if possible, travel by public transport. An entrance ticket to a Bregenz Festival event entitles the holder to free travel by bus and train within the Vorarlberg Public Transport Network on the day of the event.
For the return journey after a performance on the Floating Stage, an additional train service to Bludenz and additional bus services to Lustenau, the Bregenz Forest, Lindau in Germany and Reineck in Switzerland are laid on (restrictions apply if the performance is transferred to the Festival Opera House owing to bad weather). The bus/coach station and railway station are only five minutes' walk from the Festival Opera House. Simply follow the signposts!
Arrival by car
Visitors coming by car will find plenty of public car parks (subject to charges) in Bregenz. Please follow the routing system – 'Parkleitsystem' – which guides drivers to car parks where there are free spaces. Information displays are posted on access roads into the town. Near the Festival Opera House you will find a large number of metered parking spaces (
see map). The Festival Opera House and the Floating Stage are max. 15 minutes' walk away.
If you are coming from Switzerland, we recommend the following route, given the existing traffic situation: leave the motorway at the exit Au for the border crossing at Au/Lustenau; then drive in the direction of Dornbirn, join the motorway at Dornbirn Süd, and exit at Bregenz City Tunnel (NB: a motorway toll sticker is required when travelling on Austrian motorways).
Arrival by plane
InterSky, the Official Carrier of the Bregenz Festival, offers direct flights from Vienna, Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Dresden, Münster/Osnabrück, Paris, Graz, Nice and many other cities to the airport at Friedrichshafen (Germany) which is conveniently located only about 30 minutes from Bregenz. InterSky offers regular tickets starting from just EUR 69.99 (one-way, including all taxes and charges). Flights can be booked at our website
www.intersky.biz or through our call centre +43 5574 48800 46. All customers from Germany can reach the call centre in Bregenz by dialling 07541 2869684 and are charged only for a fixed network call within Germany.

Actually it's a ship. But if need be, it can also function as a concert hall. Or a theatre, a ballroom, a catwalk or a conference centre. Whatever you use it for, it's probably the most exclusive location to be found anywhere in the Lake Constance region. What we're talking about is the "Sonnenkönigin". A milestone in the history of shipping on the lake. Futuristic in design, unmatched in size.
