The Labour of Love - Liebesdienste

A theatre evening about sexual services in and around Vorarlberg

A production from Theater_Sub_text in cooperation with Art of Our Times - KAZ and the cabaret -Seelax im Freudenhaus

In Germany, one million clients a day use the services of sex workers, who number about 200,000. The sexual services industry is evidently sizeable and exists in response to substantial demand. Things are not that different in Austria, although no exact figures are available. In the Vorarlberg region there has been - officially - no prostitution at all for several years now. The show Liebesdienste (The Labour of Love) draws on conversations conducted with sex workers. The focus throughout is on human lives and personal experiences.

brut @ Bregenz

The -Vienna-based theatre company brut has made a name for itself lately thanks to its unusual dance projects and performances.

Now under new management by Haiko Pfost and Thomas Frank, the theatre company has changed its name (from "dietheater") to "brut". The new name was a chance find: it was emblazoned in big letters on the rear wall of the bar in the Vienna Konzerthaus. But the name is very much an agenda, too. The word can mean raw and wild, but also exquisitely dry as in the case of fine champagne – at all events brut stands for openness towards process and contradiction in art. For Bregenz, brut will be staging a double bill – the pieces will be announced in spring. You'll be in for a surprise!
